"ICAAN Find It" is a Indianapolis-based scavenger hunt event exploring the city's hot spots, for fun and a good cause, taking place at the end of April in downtown Indianapolis. I have a team that will be in the running, and you can put one together, too. Visit the event page to get complete information on how to register your team.

WHEN & WHERE
Saturday, April 29th, 2006
Indianapolis City Market
222 E. Market Street (Corner of Market and Pennsylvania)
8:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. Team Packet Pick Up & Registration
10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. ICAAN Find That! Scavenger Hunt
1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Lunch, Entertainment, raffles
2:00 p.m. Awards

Each Team will provide:

  • Four eager participants.
  • One digital camera (per team) to use during the hunt. A camera phone will also work.
  • Their own transportation (on foot or other means e.g. roller blades, bikes, wagons etc.).
  • Registration Fee: $160.00 per team of 4; $40 for an individual.

HOW
Each team will be given a list of 300 tasks with assigned point values. Wisely choose the order in which to start and attempt to complete as many tasks as possible with the highest point value in the 3 hour time limit. Challenges may include: Take a picture of your entire team looking tough and mean in front of a “No Parking Anytime” sign (the sign must contain these words for full credit); 5 points. OR Take a picture of 3 team members and a uniformed police officer doing the YMCA pose; 30 points…remember some bystanders will be working for us and will not help without a bribe!

Judges will review your pictures and task items and award prizes based on total points accumulated.

WHY
To raise money for the training and placement of service dogs and promote awareness of ICAAN’s mission. Indiana Canina Assistant and Adolescent Network is a not-for-profit organization that helps training and placement of assistance dogs for people with disabilities. ICAAN also provides programming for at-risk youth where troubled youth learn skills in problem solving and making decisions, AS THEY assist with the training of the pups.
